Hope for Paws- Eldad Hagar Abandoned over 100 Dogs after Collecting Thousands in Donations

Who remembers this story from May 2010?  Race Against the Clock to Save Over 100 Animals

There have been many questions & rumors surrounding ELDAD HAGAR & HOPE FOR PAWS rescue. Some of the things in question date back more than 2 years, but if you're in the business of saving lives you'll never forget this one. Many dogs were abandoned, donations went missing & dogs died. I think it might be important to bring these things up, especially when the organization is always winning big charity grants, raking in tons of money & yet always begging for your votes & donations, but seems to rescue only a handful of dogs & has no animals up for adoption on their website.

Also, just as an FYI. Hope for paws is NOT a new hope partner which means they do NOT rescue shelter animals. They never have. They don't take animals into their rescue & they don't even post animals up for adoption on their page- they give them off to other rescues once they catch and videotape. The only thing Eldad & HFP really push for is votes for winning money.

A few years ago, there was a hoarding case in Palmdale, CA that Eldad Hagar (Hope For Paws) was involved in http://sangabrielpets.wordpress.com/2010/05/11/hope-for-paws-rescues-over-100-dogs-from-hoarder-in-palmdale/ where he collected over 15 thousand dollars in donations. Most of those 100+ dogs he "rescued" were later abandoned, some shipped off to other states without even a vet exam, left in boarding or some even sent to high kill shelters where one shelter (Irvine) even wrote to Eldad to please come back & get the dogs he left, which he refused.

Some dogs were left for over 18 months in boarding by Eldad who didn't even look back or try to help these dogs. Other rescues had to step up and re-rescue the dogs left behind minus the donation money. He basically took the money and ran. There are court records that prove Eldad abandoned those dogs at boarding without payment.

Court Records: NON PAYMENT FOR BOARDING FEES OF THE PALMDALE/AZ DOGS
Case Number: 10S01264
TOP DOG RESORT, LLC VS. HOPE FOR PAWS, INC.
Filing Date: 07/07/2010Case Type: Small Claims (Limited Jurisdiction)Filing Court: San Fernando Courthouse
Status: DISPOSED BY JUDGMENT

A side note that is interesting: When Milan Radovic (the owner of Top Dog Resort, where Eldad dumped all the dogs & left) took him to court & won for non payment of these dumped dogs from Palmdale, Eldad's wife, Audrey, spoke on his behalf, while Eldad stood there silently & she told the judge the reason why he didn't understand the payment situation or fees was because Eldad could not understand or speak English very well. How many of you have heard him speak in his videos, in person or on the phone? There are hundreds of people who can attest to Eldad speaking perfect English.

Upon hearing of the abandonment of all the dogs, the Executor of the  AZ dogs demanded via phone & letter those dogs he was given to  be returned to the estate. She did not like or approve of Eldad or Sharon Gold dumping the dogs.

Speaking of Sharon Gold... she was also convicted of embezzlement and did prison time.  Yeah, great pair these two.,   She now lives in Washington State, operating a dog rescue, harassing fosters.  One foster claims she is very abusive with kicking dogs.  A transport told how she was bragging about how stupid people were because it was so easy to take their money.

Eldad also had two dogs (Basenji's) killed that he "rescued" from Palmdale.  He and Sharon deemed them dangerous without even getting them properly evaluated.  They never even had a chance.   Milan at Top Dog and another witness can attest to this lack of compassion and total disregard to the right of life perpetrated by Eldad.

Let's not forget about the female Labrador left in a crate in Arizona to die a miserable death, melting in the hot desert sun.  A concerned citizen went back to find this horrifying sight.
Eldad, Sharon and one other rescue were the last two to leave the site and this poor girl was left behind.

The only reason Eldad even bothered to "volunteer" to re-rescue the dogs he left behind was to save face. Eldad stole thousands of dollars in donations that were meant for these animals. And what's even worse are those who know the truth, yet continue to support Eldad. Why are people continuing to support him? Wake up... this is NOT rescue. I don't know any other rescue that is always armed with a video camera at every rescue & thinks that the best shots on film is the most important part of the rescue. In most other rescues, the animals are of first concern & a making a great video is only an afterthought.

The rescue of the abandoned dogs is credited to the many rescues that pulled together for the sake of the animals....one of those rescues being Pulling for Paws & others. They worked hard and tirelessly without the money or pats on the back to ensure the dogs abandoned by Eldad did not get left behind again. I commend those rescues that took on this mission without question. Eldad is NOT a hero, in my opinion...he's a fraud, a con, a marketeer...who's greatest achievement is tugging the heartstrings of thousands while dipping into their pocket books. It seems the main point behind this man is make a few great videos, & push them out all over Godvine, Facebook & other social networking sites, for maximum recognition & donations. How many animals does he really rescue a year? A handful? Is he a glorified dog catcher? Many of the dogs he uses in his videos are turned over to other rescues to care for after the initial, glorifying save & video.   http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e6zvLGN8C58

WITNESS STATEMENTS

Witness A
Eldad left one of those dogs from palmdale/az hoarding case behind in a crate to die in the AZ sun.....but he didnt get that on film......many.of the.dogs were dumped in boarding at Top Dog in California. We took one of those dogs and it's hard to look at him and think he could of been the one left behind in the crate.

Witness BI witnessed this one with my own eyes & put my own reputation at stake. Not good. These animals were abandoned by them & good people's donations were not going to the animals in need. Quite a shame. I can name at least 5 rescues who came in & saved those dogs that Eldad abandoned yet took the donation money. And yes, some died, not just that one in the desert.

Witness C
Eldad & I worked together when he responded to helping me with an ongoing cat hoarding situation... only to leave me feeling completely used once he got footage to show he was a cat rescuer, as well. Created videos asking for money, then BAILED on ALL of us!! And I'm putting all that nicely & in a nutshell. It was ugly & WRONG!! There are a lot of details on specific situations where he acted like scum. I was shocked. Thought he was a hero, too. Add another 20-25 cats/kittens to the animals on which he's bailed but collected $$$.

He also nearly killed a litter of kittens by grabbing a tube of Frontline saying, "gimme that... let ME do it" (cuz he claims to also be going to VET school). Turned out he used up the entire tube VS. one drop per kitten. Two of them crashed, were rushed to emergency vet in Eagle Rock. After the vet helped stabilize, he picked up the worse one, said , "no sense letting it die at the vet & paying the overnight stay", took the kitten home, shot video of him with another rescue dog cuddling in a bed", submitted it to the Bonnie Hunt Show where he made THAT video go viral, collect more donation monies & fans, bad-mouthed that vet... saying, "he saved Hunter's life". Ewww, I better stop now... I'm gonna throw up.

Witness D
The Chase Community Giving grant is over and I am RELIEVED!! We did NOT get enough votes to secure a spot on the leader board which means we will NOT be receiving any of the grant. I am a rescuer, I spend my days scooping poop, racing to the shelter to make sure dogs are safe or to the vet to make sure they are well, facilitating dogs being pulled to safety, transporting dogs, responding to emails from potential adopter's, arranging home checks, weeding through applications and networking dogs in danger. I do not have time to video tape every dog I rescue, every trip to the shelter or set up live stream cameras while I wash puppies for your votes. I don't have the money to buy expensive ads on Facebook promoting myself nor do I have the huge network of supporter's in the states and/or over seas to bring in votes. If you voted for us I hope it was because you know I work hard, genuinely love & care for animals, and deserved the money.

Witness E
Why bother, the masses are STUPID - they want to believe in fairy tale BS - no one wants to be a part of the WORK it really takes to save an animal - sure, I'm off to WASH my rescued pitbull & shep..tune in...it's FREE, it's not glamorous....that SOB Eldad has left dogs to die, abandoned an old chow & left a pittie on the street left a dog to die in a crate & WTF - keep on sending HIM money..I give up.

Rebuttal to Witness E by Witness B
I bother because there ARE good & decent rescues & rescuers out there who never get a chance, any donations, or any accolades for all the hard work they do day & night to save animals. I bother because this is absurd what is going on with Eldad & how people are snowed. I bother because the animals matter most to me of all.

The other concerning thing is he has won the Chase Charities giveaway again ( in addition to a Toyota Highland this year & other contests).. He's won 4 years in a row, first as Hope for Paws & then in following years by partnering with The Kris Kelly Foundation, & just this past week where he partnered with another Foundation winning $100,000. I don't even think you're allowed to enter more than one year in a row. I guess "partnering" with another organization is a way to get around this. But how many small rescues rake in over $100K a year? This is public record for a non profit & this was just in 2010. How much money is spent on advertising? How much money actually goes to the animals in need? It may deserve closer examination.

For those who want a second opinion, there is another blog for you to read that was researched independently and her findings are outlined in great detail.  is-hope-for-paws-shady-hollywood

SUMMARY
Eldad abandoned so many dogs from a Palmdale rescue at Top Dog Resort. He said he'd get them all spay/neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, rehomed etc.... he did not and yet he took about $15,000 in donations.

Eldad and Sharon said they were in Arizona getting 12 dogs off an estate, came back with 11.  One of those dogs was left behind to die a miserable death.

Several other rescues had to step in to vet the dogs,spay/neuter, find them homes etc, on their own dime without the recognition they deserved for saving the dogs he abandoned.

Eldad also had 2 dogs from Palmdale euthanized at Top Dog resort he considered dangerous without having them properly evaluated first..

Some of the dogs were abandoned for over 18 months.

Pulling for Paws took a majority of these dogs along with other rescue orgs. Their names are all at the end of that video, Rescue Uncovered, on youtube.

Eldad was sued in court and lost.

http://www.freenewspos.com/en/home-news-article/f/271623/today/allegations-of-fraud-dog-killing-and-pet-abandonment-surround-hope-for-paw

In conclusion
Real rescues don't have time to go out and video tape everything they do, let alone edit the video adding haunting music & text and then posting all over the world. That does NOT make you a top rescue, that makes you a video editor & marketeer and to use God to profit from is appalling. If you're going to support a rescue, please support a real rescue that doesn't abandon dogs everywhere, or leave them in crates in the hot desert sun as they drive away in an air conditioned van with all the donation money. Please make sure who your donating to is really concerned about the animals they claim to 'rescue'.

    5. Elder makes it quite clear in each of the videos that Hope for Paws does the rescue of the animals, they are the ones risking bites and other injuries crawling around through and under God knows what to catch the fur babies. Once the babies are secured they are sent to fosters so that Eldad and his team can hit the road for more rescues.

    1. I know. If even half of this stuff is true it's bad. It makes me really really really sad. I totally trusted them and just started donating monthly. Now I wonder if it's going into their pockets. I don't see that any of them have jobs so they must use the money from donations as a salary. I know vet bills cost a lot and it does show them at the vet. I don't know what to believe.

  4. How much of this can be proven? I am not finding much regarding this. I am not sure how much of this I believe. I believe he may owe boarding costs, but to accuse someone of the heinous acts is pretty big. I also do dog rescue and I know how much other rescues and supposed rescues like to run their mouths. I am going to have to stick with innocent until proven guilty.

  6. i can tell you for 100% that the above story or any other claims of that manner are completely false! Eldad, which i know personally, would be the last person on earth needing 15K......
Besides that i know him more than 10 years and within those years have seen him rescue numerous dogs.

Please be assured, the above story is NOT true....

Most of this article it true. Wow this is really unbelievable!!! I will have to figure out how to retract for the rest of the payments, I would rather give my donation where they really need it.

  7. The judgment is not fake. You can find it at the Los Angeles Superior Court website: http://www.lasuperiorcourt.org/civilcasesummarynet/ui/casesummary.aspx?CT=CI

The site does not give details of the case itself, but of the financial claim and the judgment against Hope For Paws. Subsequently the matter was moved to Van Nuys, and that information is also available on the website (it says, essentially, the same thing as the San Fernando case): http://www.lasuperiorcourt.org/civilcasesummarynet/ui/casesummary.aspx?CT=CI

  9. I find little to no evidence here. I don't believe that Eldad would do any of this. I mean why even bother acting like such a kind person? I truly think that he does good. And everyone else should too. This article is fake. Read this if you want to actually see what he and his wife are like: http://moderndogmagazine.com/articles/hope-paws/38502

    1. I wouldn't go so far as to say the article is fake. It's not fake but some of it is misleading. Read the rebuttal at the end and it explains that Eldad had no idea that the dog in Arizona was left behind. In addition, the judge compromised with regard to the dispute between Eldad and the kennel. It sounds to me like Eldad may be guilty of spreading himself too thin at times, but overall I think he does very good work.

    2. That's how a con artist works. They're the kindest people you can possibly imagine. They prey on peoples vulnerability and hearts to get what they want. This is totally true and you can find all the court documents above in other people's posts.

    3. What you say it's absolutely true. Con is short for confidence. Confidence man because he builds up your confidence in him and therefore he can get what he wants from you

  10. Nobody is perfect. Eldad is only one person. It sounds to me like he never likes to say no to a rescue. He may not be able to follow up on every single rescue he does, especially when he rescues multiple dogs at once. But I think he does the best he can and overall it sounds to me like he does really good work and saves a lot of dogs.

I think the criticism of his videos is totally unfounded. Not only do the videos help to find homes for the dogs, but the videos raise a lot of money and that money is used for rescues. Eldad would not be able to rescue nearly as many dogs if he didn't fundraise. When Eldad finds one dog, I think it is usually pretty easy for him to find the dog a home thanks to the publicity from the videos.

But when Eldad rescues 50 dogs from a hoarding situation or that type of thing, it takes time to find homes. The dogs may have to be boarded and that is very expensive. Fundraising is very important to pay for boarding and that type of thing. Fundraising is an absolute necessity. The videos are great for fundraising. The videos are a good thing, not a bad thing. They highlight the type of work being done and they raise money to save more dogs. I don't know how anyone can criticize the videos.

    1. Wow are you ever gullible! He hasn't actually rescued that many dogs in actuality. Seems like it but he hasn't and yet the dollars keep pouring in for him . He may have cleaned up his act for a while but it's only bc of his bad publicity that he did so.

  12. People, stop, drop, roll. Put out the fire. Check Google. A quick search does not reveal much more than the positive work HFP has done. Put on your critical thinking caps: Let's say for the sake of argument that what's been written here is true. Why are there only two names associated with any of it -besides this blogger? Okay, find this Diana Tippit AND Christine Franco. Look up the shelter mentioned. Call them & inquire after these stories you've heard. The court case is a matter of public record ->VERIFY THESE THINGS.

For all we know, the very sad picture of the dog above may be real, but we have no context for it. We don't know if it's even related to what they're saying about HFP, so don't jump to conclusions! Critical thinking is what's called for. Always verify everything, or at least as much as you can. The internet is a tricky place!

As far as doubling your donation you go ahead and throw away your money. Even if there's the off chance you're wrong then it is just stupid of you to double your donation when there are other charities out there that have impeccable reputations. Not sure what you think anyone has to gain by making things up about this fraud.

  14. I've been watching Hope for Paws videos for over a week now and with each video I cannot help but cry. The heroic act taken by Eldad and his friends would appear very convincing since I am about to sacrifice and donate for his rescues. I could not believe how people would use hopeless and helpless dogs as an income opportunity where I on the other hand is constantly surviving for over 15 years now trying to provide a caring environment for my rescued cats and dogs. I live in a country where most people have no clue about animal rights when even kids would a tiny kitten. I am living in a third world country and stray dogs and cats are not treated with respect. Each day for us is a battle while I am trying hard to provide for my furry friends from the meager income that I make balancing it between my family of 7 and family of 12 furry friends. On most times I feel I am neglected my rescues since I could not provide them with proper medical care. I am sacrificing so much for these animals because I genuinely feel it is the right thing to do, if I am not able to help and welcome them then who will. It is a constant battle on a day to day basis, fearing that someone will hurt any of my furry family, always on the look out for people around us who dislike dogs and cats. Aside from the challenge of providing a safe shelter and food for my animal family, dealing with the constant abuse on animals around me is one cross that I have to bear alone. I have no help from anybody, no funds, no donations, no solicitation I am all by myself wanting to stay strong for all of them. I did not chose them by they chose me...it is so amazing that these cats and dogs know where to turn to for help. Here in the Philippines you will see newly born kittens in plastic bags, dogs left to wander the streets, kittens dumped on the streets and the growing injustices of animal abuse like dog catcher who scout around for dog meat- which I have learn to deal with on a day to day basis. Just imagine the pain I have to go through each day turning a blind eye and deaf ears to the cries of the newly born which I am powerless not able to help them. Sometimes I have to place cotton on my ears just to muffled the sound from the cries of the kittens outside. I am guilty sometimes of wishing that these tiny kittens will die quickly to spare them the torment and pain of being neglected and be subjected to torture by even small kids. For any animal lover being in this situation is unbearable but I need to muster the strength to carry on and continue to fight for the very existence of my furry family and for the ones who will be lucky enough to sense that I am just here for them. The fear is always there- the constant conflict that I have to endure just to keep my furry friends safe and alive. I have to remain strong and always hopeful that I will be able to fulfill my mission here on this planet. I am always praying to the Supreme Being for some guidance and blessings.

  24. I think what happened, is Eldad had to eat plenty if crow, before he learned his lesson, especially about not speaking English! His videos proved that lie! I believe maybe he learned his lesson, but then can he run his own rescue, or was he banned from doing so for some length of time? Will he do it again? Did Audrey and others involved encourage the behavior? Maybe he learned about the company he kept and decided to part ways with such? I won't donate, but I will watch the videos. Go with your gut. If you trust him, then feel free to donate. If you don't, then don't. It's that simple.

    ReplyDelete
  25. I'm very skeptical about these accusations. Watching Eldad interact with these animals says a lot about how trusting these animals are of him. He's extremely patient and that bodes well for his character. There may have been a money dispute in the past due to a language barrier which has since been resolved, which I don't believe has a barring on how he treats the animals. I agree Eldad may have perhaps tried to do more than he was able to because he hated to refuse anyone, which is a character flaw one cannot really condemn. Regardless, his treatment of his rescue animals seems to be exemplary. They are not chased into traffic, calm when taken, bathed, seen to by a vet, introduced to a foster and a forever family is sought after. Seems like business as usual and that does cost money.

  26. I love hope 4 paws and what Eldad does. It's great he does video taping. If he makes the videos more appealing then hats off to him. Keep doing your good work Eldad and misplace the haters

    ReplyDelete
  27. It really doesn't take much time or effort to use a GoPro camera and video things so why wouldn't he make the videos if it helps him raise funds to achieve his goals - animal rescues. There will always be haters looking to cause problems for good people. There seems to be ample evidence in the videos that there are lots of other people and services involved in these rescues - animal hospitals and vets, various rescue organizations, etc. For those who claim not to be able to find the dogs he rescues for adoption, each video I have seen gives the rescue information where you can contact if you are interested in adopting or just want to make a donation to help the dog on its road to recovery at the end of each video. I don't think he was ever claiming that he and his rescue group do all of the fostering, rehabilitation and re-homing. They just make it possible for the various rescues to do their job -finding loving forever homes for these beautiful creatures. Stop being troublemakers and trying to interfer with the fundraising that these people need to do in order to continue their good work. If the money isn't there for them to help, the deaths of these innocent animals will be on you for taking away the resources to save them. Also, they say animals can sense if a person is good or bad (I have witnessed this phenomenon myself firsthand) and watching Eldad in the videos and the ease with which he gains the trust and obvious love of these animals and the tender and loving way he handles them surely must speak volumes about his character. I have only been watching for a short time, but I can clearly see where the haters have overlooked information clearly presented if it suits there smear campaign. To the haters: find something productive to do with your life and stop interfering with people who are doing something worthwhile with their lives. To Eldad and all those involved with Hope for Paws and their affiliates: keep up the good fight and know that the majority of people appreciate the sacrifices that you make to do this very difficult but unfortunately necessary work. It takes a very special person with a good heart and strong character to do what I can only assume is a difficult and emotionally draining job of rescuing abused and neglected animals - Thank you.

  28. Oh, and I tried to check out some of the so called 'facts' the haters provided above, including links that don't work, quotes from various haters, and the blog of some crazy woman named Cheryl who seems to think she speaks on behalf of God and knows who has Jesus in their life! Enough said.

  29. goping trough the reviews one thing becomes apparent. they are all written by the same person under different names.
the same terms an suspicions just worded a bit differently.
-mail drop in beverly hills - so what, you can have a maildrop whereever you want. even if he lives there doesnt mean he afford this by his organisation.
-one of his girls is an actor - so youre saying one of the volounteers has another job? oh wow...
-they aer a multimillion dollar operation because of many youtube hits - hardly try again, documents state 2 mil in donations.
so what many people dont know is that the costs for such orgnasations often have up to 95% overhead.
caritas for example has 92% overhad (so only 8% of donations go to the reciever).
so with 2 mil, (minus paypal fees, bank fees) minus costs of operation he sitll has a lot of rescues and seems to work pretty efficent.

in contrary to the other claims (dogs get dumped) they now show the dogs even later at their fosters or finala new owner. (which is even more effort) so the rescues we see now are months old because of this extra step. i guess to proof those claims false still makes a lot more effort todo so.

so yea that claims here are smelly smell. looks liek someone has a personal vendetta. looking at their page they are hardly a scam operation. they do not take a lot of effort for PR asside from their rescue videos

  30. Christine Franco wrote to me today and wrote " Wow - I have no idea what his dealings are now or what he was really up to back then, but he was not popular in the Los Angeles area during that time and I only heard horrible things. Unfortunately, there are a lot of things with private rescue groups that aren't what you think... It is part of why I got out of it. The animal rescue movement has changed a lot over the years and I couldn't participate any longer in what the new philosopohies were. I would do almost anything to save a life, but the environment I was in, lost focus. good for you doing your homework."

  31. I was working with them for while and they are trying to save all animals they can but they also have their own lives. You cant expect from them hard work 24 hours a day. HOW MANY ANIMALS DID YOU RESCUED?!

    ReplyDelete
  32. Very disappointed . No animal deserves to be abandoned or left to die after receiving so much money for their welfare !!

  33. I hope Eldad's attorneys are aware of this page, I smell a lawsuit

  34. Wow, this changes my perspective entirely.

  35. Here’s the problem. Eldad is a different type of rescue. More along the lines of search and rescue. Not a rescue who pulls from shelters or puppy mills etc. he depends on dog rescues to take these dogs in after he saves them from the horrible lives they have been living on the streets.

Eldad saves the dog, the rescues agree to take the dog and work with them medically and socially. Then they adopt them out. I wish that more states had rescuers such as Eldad. They are very limited.

  36. I really want to see more details of how they conduct business. I was waiting their video and it was so sugary and sweet that I typed in a search engine and found bunch of disturbing articles. I am not donating unless there is a transparentcy.
It's a fraud epidemic.Sometimes it seems that EVERY person defrauding .

  37. I saw a homeless dog and contacted Hope for Paws their accuse for not responding was they were out of country. Then I texted them today about an injured cat they didn’t even respond. I have my doubts about this organization from them not even referring the homeless dog case and had another rescue go get it. Will not ever contact them again

    ReplyDelete
  38. Thank you for putting that. I wish more people would do their research instead of just giving him money and buying their leashes.

    ReplyDelete
  39. Do they send out a dog to pretend that they are homeless? Seems like all the dogs they show just come right to them....not my experience in the real world

  41. I don't believe any of the horrible accusations towards Mr. Hagar or his organization. Does the accuser have any idea how much vet costs are now? I can tell you from experience it is expensive and even in some cases astronomical! My beloved Pomeranian had cancer and after all was said and done over 5000.00 she died anyway. This is no exaggeration. How much do you think it cost to save that poor dog in South Carolina that had a Coyotee trap on it's foot. Just a routine trip go the vet is 80 to 100 dollars. My Pom needed a dental 850.00 hundreds in medicine through her life. She had a collapsing treachea that was 100$ a month for medicine to control her cough or I would have had to put her to sleep. Flea meds each month and grooming costs. I totally believe Mr. Hagar when he asks for donations for vet costs. Just because he puts out rescue videos how many animals is he rescuing and not recording. Probably most of the rescues are are not recorded. Look how much his clothing is ruined stained ripped and have to be replaced. To me that looks like a person isn't to concerned about a little dirt when it comes to saving an animal. Geeze. Use common sense. What does your gut feelings tell you. I think he has a true gift with animals. He says patience. That's a large part of it but to save an animal others have tried to rescue gor days even weeks? Something more than just patience there. Animals can since it.

  42. Music can make anything emotional. Out of the millions he has received from people, from Chase bank awards and who knows what other places, how much has he given to help struggling rescues? He knows how to pull at your heart strings.

    ReplyDelete
  43. Not sure what's your point. Uses music to what make us humans feel guilty or sad? Maybe some humans have a reason for guilt. Money, He gives a large part of what he gets to other rescue organizations to help them pay for medical bills etc. I have turned off the music in a experiment to see for myself if the rescues are as intense. yeah they are. So what I do is focus on the dog and the look of helplessness. Just wondering maybe these animals are faking it. Acting this is L.A. afterall… Isn't everyone an actor by default? Of course not and neither are these animals people literally throw away. So what is 5 10 or 20 dollars. Nothing in the long term. At the very most it can come out that Hope for paws is a scam all the rescue videos were made in a sound studio, the Costa Rico videos were made in the Universal Studio back lot with fake 2 toed sloths. At some point in life its time to say I believe what I see on faith and let go of lack of trust and suspicion. Because deep down that's what this is about.

  44. I would love to see Eldad's financials of how much he was given and proof of how much and who he gave to. Legal proof and then I can jump on clouds like you. Yes, I will never say a bad thing about him if he actually gives more than he gets.

  48. I always thought HFP was a scam operation. They just had a fundraiser and got over half a million dollars! No doubt they are driving the best cars. He seems to have a thing for the employees too. They have a rabid cult following on You Tube. He's s smart man and he no doubt knows how to speak English!

  49. Hello

I have seen many videos on Youtube of Eldad rescuing dogs and other animals. I would like to believe that he has a heart and is not a stone cold monster. The videos paint him as a loving kind individual who loves animals and who wants to help them. But I can't help but get a suspicous when I see blog posts like this about how he aledgedly has abused animals and just is out for the money.
On the other hand he is running a charity and you have to raise money to keep it running as well as to be able to rescue the dogs or cats that are called into the office.
I suppose if he is stretched too thin then I suppose he should hire some people or get volunteers to help with the rescues.
I have read a lot about this organization both good reviews and bad reviews online and I just don't know what to believe. Although I would like to believe the best and that the organization is trying it's best with the resources that they have.

  50. I was skeptical because I went on their site to see what dogs were available for adoption. Not one. That does not seem reasonable. Yet 500,000 views and according to their website 660 million views and every video asking for $5. Then I found this post and learned about the criminal judgement. Sadly it is possible that this 'not for profit' means that the revenue is not properly accounted. I could not find audited financial statements on their site or anywhere. Why is that? It should be required for any registered charity, and transparent. Absolutely not donating anything. The videos are heartbreaking but that does not mean what goes on reflects reality. Produce financial statements that are fully audited. If they have nothing to hide they should be happy to do that.

  51. There is a video on youtube from 2010 showing a Female white Chihuahua/Terrier Mix Dog named ''Chase.'' Its titled ''Chase rescued day scheduled to be euthanized'' This is the dog that Eldad has used for the Chase Campaign '' to raise money from tear jerking animal advocates. It was stipulated that the dog was abused by its owner for three years. The dog was about twelve years old at the time. It was my friends Aunt Dog, her name was ''Chigger'' The dog wasn't abused she just wasn't properly taken care of as his Aunt was dignosed with Alzheimer's in which her apartment became a pigs dye. His Aunt was senior put in my friends Sisters house for care. Her dog Chigger aka Chase had skin allergies in which she tore a lot of her fur. My friend put fliers for the dog to be adopted yet no one was biting. A few days later he brought Chigger to the Carson Shelter .The other thing is when watching video they brought another dog to the cage in which Chase reacted like she was fearful growling at the dog. A dog that reacts to someone like that will not take to some stranger in just three days. Even dog trainers will tell you that. Eldad took the dog for raising money in which the dog was given back to the pound a year later. Eldad took a few photos posted them at a later date to show that he still had the dog making her look all great from the groomers Beware, my friends aunts dog was used to make thousands of dollars to stuff their pockets, Sad.

    1. Many dogs especially certain breeds that fall into the fighting breed category, are trained to fight. So someone tries to make them want to fight other dogs and is successful in this. Pit bulls get abused in this way, however it is much harder to train them to attack people. So it is very much a thing to find a dog like this who will want to fight a large dog but will be easily friendly to humans. The best way to figure this out is to try to walk them past the larger type dogs they usually are pitted against. I was taught this by my Vet who helps train and rehome pitbulls.
